Day 4 Yamba to Banora Point

19 June

Last night we treated ourselves to the best Italian in Yamba at the Sassafras, which is just up the road from camp. The entree called ‘Rat’s Balls’ was irresistible. My Ratatouille Penne and Norm’s Prawns & Linguini were both delicious. It was a perfect night out.

Rosie and I enjoyed our early morning walk this morning, although we did find ourselves caught up in the puffing, panting throng of walkers, joggers, bike riders and dogs of all shapes and sizes. We retreated to the almost deserted beach beside the mouth if the Clarence. Poor Rosie was spooked by the gentle swish of the water at first, but she soon settled down and enjoyed the sites and delicious smells.

Today we continued our northerly ambles to Judi and Bruce’s new mansion at Banora Point, just south of the Qld/NSW border. We stopped for lunch at the Macadamia Castle

The scenic route via Byron Bay, was amazingly busy . Back on the freeway we were soon pulling off and climbed up to the heights of Banora Point where the Bofingers have found themselves a wonderful home with fabulous views over Terranora Broadwater. Coco gave us an enthusiastic welcome. Bruce expertly guided Norm into a parking Spot. I was drawn straight out the back to the views and pool. Fabulous! We enjoyed catching up over drinks and nibbles. Judi served a delicious dinner and insisted that we sleep inside .
