15 July
The early morning light was spectacular as Rosie and I ambled around McKinlay this morning. We waved Our friend from last night, the road train driver farewell as he departed on his way.

Today we continued up the Landsborough Highway to the Flinders and up to Cloncurry: ‘The Curry’ to many.
The Outback Café served us a huge slice of Banana Bread, which we shared, and a coffee. The small main town area is looking spruced up compared our last visit. There were many road trains and fellow nomads on the road today, so progress was slow occasionally. Fortunately there are several sections of overtaking lanes along the way to The Isa. We drove through beautiful, colourful, rugged amazing country along the way. As we passed the Fullerton Ranges we recalled great memories of the times we shared there with James.
We are now set up in the Sunset Tourist Park in the mighty mining metropolis of Mount Isa. The temperature is a very cosy 32 degrees celsius!!!
