MONDAY 9 AUGUST 2021
There are so many different tracks to explore on this huge property of more than 10,000 acres. This morning Rosie and I headed down the road to the main gate, past a few of Richard’s interesting constructions. I particularly love a white hut up on a nearby hill. There are lovely sweeping views from the hill where that hut stands. As I paused under a huge fig tree, beside a grove of mossy rocks and a low rise termite mound, I could not help thinking how much my darling Tony would have loved this place, with all of its quirkiness. He and Richard are ‘birds’ a feather and I am sure they would have got along like a house on fire. I stood there awhile, letting memories of Tony wash over me and it felt so comforting.
After exploring that hut more closely, we took the track where the ‘Marina’ sign is. Walking along, I could see and hear kangaroos, wallabies and young joeys hopping away as we got too close to them. They are so quick, all I could see were grey or brown furry balls bounding through the grass with the thump thump thump of their feet at each bound.

As we emerged from the track, Rosie was given a barking royal welcome and escorted back to camp by her four legged furry Coomalie mates. I felt quite emotional to see how well she has been received by the pack.
LINUS UPDATE
Just the short version: After much consultation and research it has been concluded that Nissan in Darwin are the only people who can return Linus to her previous state of mobility. SO after many calls to Nissan, Locksmiths, NRMA and Andrew from Adelaide River she is booked in for a consultation at Nissan In Darwin on Friday 13th. (!!) Because we have premium cover, NRMA have kindly agreed to provide a hire car for a week so we can get around.
UPDATE ON THE PATIENT
Denise and James have returned to Darwin today for a review after his operation. Although he seems to have recovered very well from the heart operation, his underlying back problems have reared their painful head again, and he is really struggling to get up or walk. We are all hoping for a quick return to his fully active self again as soon as possible.
