Denise and I popped into Batchelor this morning to attend the Church Service at St Francis’. It was my last communion with my dear friends before we leave next weekend to start the long journey home. On the way back to Coomalie, the sky was covered by the most amazing clouds in a Herringbone pattern. We just had to stop to take a photo.

Barry had down with his friend Norm, for his regular Sunday Morning Tea chat. We were joined also by Dave, who is up from Harvey Bay, and Richard of course.

After the visitors flew off Norm and I drove up to Coolalinga. There was the most exotic lady, with an even more exotic bird perched on her head. She was feeding the poor bird french fries, so when the bird dropped one of the chips, its companion had a chip on her shoulder.

Bunnings at Palmerston was our next stop before returning home. There is a huge T-Rex statue beside Bunnings which I have been meaning to photograph for, which I have ages. As we were leaving there were huge plumes of smoke billowing nearby – hopefully they were the result of controlled burns.

Since we arrived at Coomalie, we have been treated to the most deliciously sweet paw paws that the Wrighties are growing. The other day James harvested two of the biggest and most impressive ones yet.

This week a group of army cadets will be spending time on exercise down here. A huge truck delivered some of their equipment this morning, followed later by a ‘forward party’ of 2.
In the evening, they joined us at Party Central for a Pizza night. While we enjoyed a few drinks and a chat, James cooked up the awesome pizzas, which Denise had prepared, in the wood fired Pizza oven. As always, the Pizzas were the best ever and the company also.
After the Pizzas James served up one of those huge paw paws he picked the other day. YUM!
