Just when I think that the sunset cannot get any better, we are treated to an even more spectacular display. Last night was the BEST ever!
As the sun sank lower in the sky, the grasses in the paddock opposite our camp lit up in most vibrant glowing creams and pinks. Norm lit the camp fire and we drank a toast to the Sun Gods in gratitude for the glorious display of colour that was developing before us.

Norm cooked up some delicious lamb loin chops on the fire for dinner, and then we relaxed in the warmth of the fire as the evening closed in around us. Perfect place, perfect dinner, perfect company, perfect night.
This morning the dogs and I went for a slightly later walk than usual, and caught up with the whistling kites flying their circuits in the swirling winds. I saw one kite dive onto a small duck, which I think managed to disappear underwater with a desperate quack just in time. The brolgas seem to have relocated down to Lake Frances. Perhaps it is more sheltered or the fishing is better.

It has been a lovely lazy sunny day out of the wind. Coomalie is teething on her toy duck whilst Rosie is sunning herself and Norm is now preparing to pack up ready to get back on the road tomorrow. Mary Kathleen will probably be our next camp.
